Andy was a British Airways pilot for 34 years, but planes were work and cars were relaxation. His first taste of motor racing was Easter Monday at Goodwood in 1956. When he was recruited to be assistant librarian to Nick Walker in 2001 he realised how unsuitable his 1920 R-R was for VSCC competition, and now owns an Edwardian Dodge, restored by Ian Ferguson.
 
Abroad in the winter, Andy remains immersed in vintage cars, working as a volunteer at the Collier Auto Museum in Naples, Florida.
