A new division of racing for Pre-war Racing Cars within the Vintage Sports-Car Club has received positive support from two prestigious names in Vintage and Historic circles ahead of its inaugural race at the Seaman Memorial Trophies Race Meeting on 29 September at Snetterton.
Maserati specialists, Sean Danaher Restorations are putting their full support behind the 10 lap event and have encouraged a splendid array of entries including ERA, Maserati, Bugatti, Talbot Lago, Alta and Morgan Racers and will generously be providing hospitality for all competitors on the day.
The VSCC’s Principal Associate, Bonhams are providing Pol Roger champagne for the competitors to enjoy at a post-race trophy presentation where three new illustrious trophies will be presented.  These include the ‘Bruce Spollon Memorial Trophy’ donated by the Spollon family, the ‘Mason Trophy’ incepted by Nick Mason and the ‘Sean Danaher Restorations Trophy’ for the highest placed Continental car in the race.
David Morris will be one of the star entrants as he comes to Snetterton vying to win ERA R11B’s 18th Historic Seaman Trophy, and with a superb victory in last weekend’s ‘Goodwood Trophy’ Race at Goodwood Revival, he will be one of the favourites for this race which features cars classified as ‘Standard and Modified’.  ERAs are also represented by Duncan Ricketts’s E Type, R4A, R4D and R5B. Four Bugatti 35 models will participate alongside Maserati 8CM, 6CM, 4CM and 4CS models.
The ‘Standard and Modified Pre-war Racing Cars’ race is one of a programme of twelve which includes 1950s Sports Racing Cars, Vintage Racers, Pre-war Sports-Cars, F3(500s) and the prestigious Seaman Memorial Trophies.
