VSCC Racer wins British Endurance Championship

Wednesday 05 November 2014

The VSCC congratulates Club Member, Calum Lockie, who secured the 2014 Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship at the final round of the year this past weekend at Donington Park.
Driving for the FF Corse Team, he and teammate David Mason OBE overcame power steering issues to their Ferrari 458 to secure points in Race 1 before Calum drove solo to a 2nd Place finish in the night Race 2. The results were enough to see them take the Championship by a single point.

Having joined the VSCC last year, Calum has competed at the Club’s Silverstone ‘Spring Start’ and Snetterton Race Meetings over the past two seasons. As ‘works driver’ in Sean Danaher’s ex-‘Rapha’ 1938 Maserati 6CM, he has dominated the Club’s new series of races for Pre-war Grand Prix Cars and was the inaugural recipient of the prestigious Bruce Spollon Memorial and Sean Danaher Restorations Pre-war Continental Trophies at Snetterton in 2013, going on to successfully defend his crown at the Norfolk circuit last month. He also piloted the car to a fantastic 2nd Place in the Goodwood Trophy at this year’s famed Goodwood Revival in September.

We congratulate Calum and his team for their most recent success and look forward to seeing him back out competing with the VSCC in 2015.
