Friday 21 November 2014

The Vintage Sports-Car Club has been named ‘Club of the Year’ at this year’s prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards, in association with Octane Magazine and EFG Private Bank.
This year’s awards were presented at a Gala Dinner at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London on Thursday 20 November, where Club Director, Julian Ghosh and Press and PR Secretary, James Taylor were in attendance to receive the trophy from David Bond, Director of the ‘Club of the Year’ category sponsors Footman James, Chairman of the Judging Panel, Duncan Wiltshire and the evening’s Master of Ceremonies, Tiff Needell.

Alongside milestone anniversaries for motoring industry heavyweights, Mercedes-Benz and Maserati in 2014, the Vintage Sports-Car Club was praised for its own incredible 80th Anniversary year, in which it held more than 50 MSA-permitted events, and received a warm reception from the distinguished gathering with many of the Club’s own members also present.

Other winners included Le Mans Classic for ‘Motorsport Event of the Year’, Haynes International Motor Museum for ‘Museum or Collection of the Year’ and a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for celebrated Rally Co-Driver, Willy Cave.
