2015 VSCC Race Season reaches its climax at Snetterton this Sunday

Friday 25 September 2015

The VSCC returns to Snetterton in Norfolk for a fourth consecutive year to celebrate the end of another exciting Race Season, with our Seaman Memorial Trophies Meeting this Sunday 27 September again providing the fitting finale.
The 10-Race programme will take place on the venue’s SN200 Circuit, with its blend of long, fast straights and technical, sweeping bends. The day will include our traditional events for Vintage, PVT and Historic Racing and Sports-Cars, with a number of the Club’s most prized silverware on offer, such as the prestigious Vintage & Historic Seaman Trophies, first competed for in 1950.

Racing machinery spanning six decades will be in action, from the 1907 Mors to the 1958 Sadler Mk III, with more than thirty different marques represented by a vast range of road-going and out-and-out racing cars.

We also look forward to again hosting the Bugatti Owners’ Club’s revered Williams Trophy Race for Pre-1935 2-seater Grand Prix Cars, which celebrates the win of William ‘Grover’ Williams in the first Monaco Grand Prix in 1929 driving a Bugatti Type 35B, which this year has attracted a stunning line-up, including fine examples of Molsheim’s Type 13, 35B, 35C, 39, 51 and 59 models.

The year’s final Premier Cru Racing event will also boast a wonderful line-up of original Pre-war Grand Prix Cars, led by the support of local Maserati Specialists, Sean Danaher Restorations, where British ERA and Alta representatives will face the Continental challenge of Maserati, Bugatti and Alfa Romeo, whilst the Hawthorn International Trophy for 1950s Sports Racing Cars is sure to provide yet another on-track highlight of the season.

Following our Cadwell and Oulton events earlier this year, this will be the third of our ‘Vintage Festivals’ in association with MSV this season. In addition to the usual warm reception and excellent facilities, our hosts have again organised plenty of other Vintage entertainment to complement the on-track activities.

Those who have attended previous events will be familiar with the popular Cream Tea Tent and live Jazz music, whilst the T6 Harvard WW2 trainer aircraft of ‘Aero Legends’ will take to the sky to perform a thrilling aerobatic display during the Lunch Break.

Discover Snetterton's illustrious racing history with a display featuring photos, racing programmes and other memorabilia located above the Circuit Office, whilst an Adventure Playground will keep the younger visitors entertained.

With the time-honoured tradition of free Spectator access to the Competitor Paddock, dedicated Pre-war and Classic Car Parking – including another well-supported gathering from the ‘Fressingfield Oily Rag Club’ – and Trade Stands, Autojumble and the venue’s ‘Tyrrell’s Restaurant’ and additional catering on-site it is the ideal family day out.

The Club’s event has proved a real hit with the local motorsport enthusiasts since our first event in 2012, and with a warm and dry day forecast, we anticipate another fantastic Spectator turnout.

Tickets will be available on the gate at £19.00 and Children Under 13 go free.
