Money raised for Sport Relief at the VSCC Awards Dinner/AGM Weekend

Tuesday 22 March 2016

Coinciding with this year’s Sport Relief event, a collection was made at the Club’s Annual Awards Dinner and AGM weekend at the Hilton Warwick, where Members donated a fantastic £1400 to the charity.
Continuing the popular format of recent years, the Club’s AGM weekend proved another great success with hundreds of Members and Marshals in attendance for both Friday’s Annual Awards Dinner and Saturday’s Marshals Dinner at the Hilton Warwick, alongside the vital business of the Annual General Meeting and Marshals Forum.

Introduced in 2013, our fourth annual Awards Dinner continued to cement its place as a real social highlight of the Club’s year, as it attracted a record turnout of almost 140 Competitors and guests. Compèred once again by renowned Historic motorsport personality, Ian Titchmarsh, the night saw over 100 of the Club’s prestigious event and annual trophies presented by Guest of Honour, Charles Trevelyan of the Bugatti Owners’ Club interspersed throughout the 3-course dinner.

As is fast-becoming the custom, there was plenty of friendly rivalry on display, with representatives of Riley and Frazer Nash in particular again leading the cheers for their winners, the latter group claiming the all-important Intermarque Trophy itself for the 2015 season.

Saturday morning’s AGM was a productive gathering with several stalwart Members providing good insight and forethought as to the future of the Club. The results of the Committee Election were also announced with Tania Brown re-elected alongside new Club Directors in Alisdaire Lockhart, Ian Standing and Nicholas Topliss.

The Club would like to congratulate all candidates who took part this year and thank all those who came and made the weekend a success. We also extend our thanks to the team at Hilton Warwick, who looked after us so well.
