IMPORTANT INFORMATION – CHANGES FOR 2016!

Those planning to attend our Prescott weekend are asked to note several changes for this year’s event:

PARKING AT PRESCOTT

The Orchard will be reserved exclusively for Pre-war cars on both the Saturday and Sunday (parking in the Orchard on Friday will be on a first-come-first-served basis). All other cars are to park in the nominated event car park adjacent to Pardon Hill Farm.  Members who have purchased Advance Tickets can park for free by showing their ‘Free Programme Voucher’, which will be exchanged on entry to the car park for a Programme.

For Members without Advance Tickets, and Non-Members, car parking will cost £5, and will include a Programme of the same value.

If returning for a second day, please show your Event Programme on entry to the car park to avoid being charged again.

CAMPING AT PRESCOTT

The traditional Camping will be available for both Members and Non-Members in the three fields directly across from the Prescott main site courtesy of Pardon Hill Farm.

The Club has investigated the provision of shower facilities on the campsite, following requests from the Membership and regret that due to the absence of mains water it will not be possible to provide showers without incurring a significant cost, which would result in the doubling of camping fees.

This year we do not intend to apply a single charge per pitch no matter how long you stay.  Instead there will be three ticket types available as follows:

 Ticket  Nights of Cost
BRONZE Thursday and Friday £20
SILVER Friday and Saturday £20
GOLD Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday £35

Please note that there is no advance booking for Camping and all payment is upon arrival.

Camping tickets must be on display at all times and failure to do so may result in further charges or removal from the campsite.

Please note that the VSCC has a contract with Pardon Hill Farm this year from Thursday 4 August through to Monday 8 August for camping Thursday night to Sunday night.  No camping on Pardon Hill Farm land is permitted outside of these dates and anyone doing so will be committing trespass and will also not be covered by the Club insurance and so may be removed from the area and not permitted access in the future.

We ask that those who wish to camp respect the privacy of the local residents and observe the campsite rules and in particular please do not leave rubbish behind or empty portaloos in the field before departing as this is a working farm with livestock.

THE EVENT...

Over 300 of the finest Pre-war Racing and Sports-Cars will be in action over the weekend at the famous venue near Winchcombe, many having travelled from all over the world to compete, with representatives from evocative marques of this special era of motoring, including Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Aston Martin, Frazer Nash, ERA and more.

Following the success of the last couple of seasons, we are thrilled to bring back Friday’s additional one-day ‘Long Course’ event again in 2016. This will follow the familiar format of our other one-day Hill Climbs, with morning Practice Runs followed by the Competitive Runs in the afternoon.

The day will see around 140 Competitors tackle the Prescott’s longer configuration, including Ettore’s Loop, which has proved such a hit with Competitors, whilst we also offer a Post-war Class for Pre-1961 Historic Racing Cars, including F3 (500) machinery.

This will be followed by the traditional, much-loved Prescott Speed Hill Climb two-day event, accommodating the standard capacity entry of 260 competing Pre-war cars, with Practice on Saturday and Competitive Runs on Sunday, whilst we will also welcome a display of BMW machinery as part of the company’s Centenary celebrations this year.

As well as the thrilling action on track there are plenty of other attractions to enjoy. Spectators are free to explore the Competitor Paddock, where they can get up close to the racing cars and drivers, whilst the annual gathering of Spectator Pre-war Cars in the Orchard is always worth the entry price alone. Renowned International Auction House and Club Principal Associates, Bonhams, will also provide another impressive display of cars from their upcoming sales.

Our fine Trade Village and ‘Autojumble’ will surely offer something to suit all interests, whilst the Children’s Entertainment Area, including Bouncy Castle and Sweet & Games Stall, ensures there will be plenty to keep our younger enthusiasts occupied. With the traditional Morning Bicycle Races and Eureka Jazz Band lunchtime parade up the Hill on Sunday and plenty of catering facilities available on site throughout the weekend, the event is the ideal family day out!
