Madresfield Driving Tests - Entry Deadline Extended!

Thursday 25 August 2016

Following declining entries in recent years, the VSCC are looking to recapture the previous success and popularity of one of the Club’s most historic events in 2016 – the Madresfield Driving Tests. Deadline for entries has been extended until after the Bank Holiday weekend so don't miss out!
Held since 1947 on the mile long drive of Madresfield Court, framed by the Malvern Hills, our event remains a most iconic and well-loved event, taking place this year on Sunday 4 September. Competitors are encouraged to bring the traditional picnics and enjoy the most relaxed and light-hearted ‘sporting’ event in the Club’s calendar.

The event involves five simple, fun Driving Tests along the – no memory required – open to Club Members in a road-going Pre-war car, which can be trailered to the event. With no form of competition license required, Madresfield is the perfect introductory event for the new or younger Pre-war car driver, whilst the day also includes two Concours elements, a Competitors’ self-judged Concours for the Montagu Trophy and one for Spectators’ Pre-war cars, for the Bob Watt Cup, in memory of the long-time Clerk of the Course and VSCC Member.

So why not join us for a delightful day out for everyone involved, which encapsulates the true spirit of the VSCC – the action doesn’t get underway until 11.30am so ‘gentlemanly hours’ are assured!

This year sees a new organising team of Dick Wilkinson and Steven Kent take the reins, so please support their efforts and don’t miss your only opportunity to take part in one of the Clubs oldest and most prestigious events.

Entry Fee: £55 (½ price for those Under 30 years old on 1 January 2016).

Closing date for entries: Monday 29 August
