Last Chance to enter the VSCC Welsh Regularity Rally

Wednesday 28 September 2016

A reminder to Club Members that entries close today (Wednesday) for the upcoming Welsh Regularity Rally, part of the Club’s ever-popular, traditional Welsh Weekend in Presteigne, Powys on 8/9 October.
The event will be a salute to the traditional long distance Rallies of yore and the first ever Welsh Weekend of 1939 – a mix of social and motoring enjoyment.

On the Saturday, a 100 mile ‘Concentration Run’ via your own route from your self-chosen starting point will take you to Presteigne for tea with your fellow Competitors. The evening is then yours to enjoy on the busy High Street or over dinner at The Radnorshire, where Marshals, Rallyists and Triallists can mingle together.

On Sunday a sixty mile Regularity ‘loop’ will take you into the wonderful countryside of the Welsh Marches at attainable average speeds, with perhaps a few ‘cols’ and lots of views along the way.

Navigation will be entirely by Road Book with clear directions and distances. Maps are not essential but you may choose to take them along for company. There will certainly be no ‘Bletchley Park’ style conundrums to solve, nor will novice Navigators be made to feel out of place. A high proportion of Competitors can be expected to get clean sheets, reaching all controls without significant loss of time. All of these will get 1st Class awards, while 2nd and 3rd Class awards will go to those who do not do quite as well.

With no overall winner, the historic Talyllyn Trophy will be available for any outstanding contribution to the event over the weekend – be it for sportsmanship, perseverance, marshalling etc.

The Rally will finish alongside the Trial at Cwm Whitton for an alfresco lunch, with plenty of time to watch a few Trials sections before setting off home.

Open to Club Members driving Vintage or PVT cars (Buff Forms not required) without any penalty for additional passengers.

Entry Fee: £55.00 (½ price for those Under 30 on 1 January 2016)

Entries Close: Wednesday 28 September

You will find attached Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form, the latter to print, complete and return to the Club Office (fax/email/post accepted). Alternatively, those with a current payment card lodged with the Club and who know the Buff Form number of the car they wish to enter can do so online at the Event Page (CLICK HERE).
