Exmoor Fringe Trial Provisional Results & Photo Gallery are now live

Monday 27 February 2017

Members can now download Provisional Results from the Exmoor Fringe Trial, the first of our ever-popular Trials events for 2017, which took place last weekend on Saturday 25 February.
Dropping a solitary point across the day’s 14 competitive sections, perennial front-runner David Golightly claimed overall victory and the Uglow Cup in his ever-competitive Ford Model T Special, ahead of regular Short Wheelbase Class rival, Matt Johnston in his Austin 7.

Nothing could separate the Vauxhall 30-98 of reigning Long Wheelbase Class champion, Paul Jeavons and John Chilman’s Chrysler 65 as they shared the spoils and James Diffey Trophy atop that class.

Amongst the Standard cars, Charles Gillett tasted success again in his Bugatti Brescia and ahead of David Rushton’s MG M Type in the Short Wheelbase class whilst young Rebecca Smith claimed her second piece of silverware for 2017 – following Pomeroy Edwardian Trophy success at Silverstone the previous weekend – winning the Long Wheelbase class in the family’s Ford Model A Tudor Sedan ahead of frequent class leader, Dennis Bingham in his open Model A.

The Club would like to thank Graham White and his team for yet another terrific event, as well as the event’s other officials for their part on the day and also the many volunteer Marshals, who again gave up their time to oversee the day’s competition.
