As hill
climb events go, Loton Park seems to have
it all – idyllic
location, exhilarating course and a real old-fashioned VSCC atmosphere.
Whether
competing, marshalling or just spectating, an enjoyable weekend is
always
guaranteed at this Shropshire venue.
On-track
competition will see a full spectrum of Vintage
and Pre-war machinery on
display with additional classes for Post-war Historic Racing Cars and
Invited
1950s Sports Racing Cars providing an added spectacle. Loton is one of
the few
events where competitors can enter a Pre-war saloon car. This is a rare opportunity
for competitors to
enter something special, and spectators are sure to be treated to some
rarely
seen gems in action on the hill. Edwardian
cars come in their droves to compete, the poplar class will be a real
highlight
of the meeting.
The
course is 1,475 yards long with an average
gradient of 1 in 25 and at its steepest is 1 in 7 following a
circuitous route
through a deer
park.
Spectator
viewing is excellent, there are fantastic vantage points right up the
hill.
Parking
is
available at the venue, there will be a special area for those arriving
in
Pre-war cars. There are autojumble and trade
stands.
