There are
just over two weeks left to enter the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy which will be
held on
the National Circuit at Silverstone, Northamptonshire.
This unique event is the ultimate pre-season
warm up, comprising driving tests and high speed lappery. The overall aim
is to award the coveted
Pomeroy Trophy to the best all-round GT car.
The event is open to any type of road car (must have road
tax and an
MOT) over 1949cc, or 1495 super/turbo charged.
Pre-war cars can have a smaller minimum capacity engine
of
1495cc.
The entry
fee is only £79 for those driving Pre-war cars, and
£165 for Post-war
cars. Entrants must
be VSCC members and
hold a National B Race License (minimum).
All cars
must be driven to the circuit on the road.
In the morning competitors will participate in driving
tests such as a
braking test, wiggle woggle and acceleration test.
After lunch cars are batched into similar
standard groups and are let loose for 40 minutes high speed driving in
racing
conditions on the Silverstone National Circuit aiming to complete a
target
number of laps allocated by handicappers based on the type of car.
Entries
close on Monday 15 February. If
you wish
to enter a Pre-war car which already has a buff form you may apply
online, or,
if you intend to enter a Post-war car, download an entry form by clicking
