The VSCC usually runs five race meetings a year offering a wide range of races for which your car may be suitable. Any event on a race track, including high speed trials and the Pomeroy Trophy competition, requires a Race Licence. Depending on the event, differing race licence standards will be required. You must first apply to the Motorsport UK for a "Go Racing" Pack. The pack contains – among other information – a "Motorsport UK Competitors' Yearbook", a DVD and a novice application form and provides simple instructions on the procedure for obtaining a Race National B Licence. Novice (new) racing drivers will be obliged to undergo a half day training course at one of the Association of Racing Drivers’ Schools (ARDS) before they can obtain a National B Licence. These are run at most of the circuits. If you pass you will have a Race National B Licence and can enter all of our race meetings. See the relevant section of the ‘Blue Book’ for more information.
Specialist clothing and equipment is required for racing in addition to your competition license and the specification of fireproof overalls, helmets, gloves and boots changes regularly. For the most up to date information please visit Motorsport UK's website.
