New Year Driving Tests Returns to Brooklands This Sunday

This Sunday, nearly 50 cars will take to the to Brooklands, the Birthplace of British Motorsport & Aviation.
The legendary world’s first purpose built motor sport venue, Brooklands, welcomes the Vintage Sports Car Club once again for the traditional New Year Driving Tests. Competing cars making up the 48 car entry list date from 1913 to 1937, all of whom will be tackling Tests throughout the day on Sunday 28 January.

The Club are looking forward to the unique challenges posed by this famous venue which includes the banking, Test Hill and the opportunity to fully exploit the Finishing Straight, which was officially “re-opened” at the Club’s Double-Twelve event last Summer.

Also new to this year’s Driving Tests will be the use of the recently restored score board. This newly reinstated former land mark of the Brooklands Club House area will be utilised for live scoring updates, this is the first time this has happened since the closure of the track in 1939!

The public are more than welcome to spectate, with normal Brooklands Museum entry charges applying, VSCC members will benefit from reduced entry upon production of their Membership Card.
