VSCC To Return to Donington Park for inaugural Formula Vintage Festival

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of The Vintage Sports-Car Clubs first stand alone Race Meeting, Formula Vintage is heading back to where it all started, Donington Park on Sunday 24 June.
The Formula Vintage Festival will glorify the original, with a Public Grid Walk & Parade of some of the wonderful cars that competed at the circuit in the 1930s, including Barry Foster's MG Q-Type which was Raced by Dorothy Stanley-Turner in the Nuffield Trophy Race at Donington in 1937. A beautiful display of historic Donington cars will also be available to view throughout the day opposite the newly refurbished Garage 39 restaurant.

Donington Park is a prestigious circuit which offers fantastic viewing points for Spectators to marvel at the brilliant Racing that is to take place, including Racing from Triple-M Racing for Pre-war MGs from the VSCC and MGCC, alongside Guest Grid appearances from The Fifties Sports Car Racing Club, the Classic and Modern Motorsport Club and the Morgan Three-Wheeler Club.

We last saw Robin Tuluie's driving his 1929 Riley Menasco Pirate take home the GP Itala and Lanchester Trophy Race at Formula Vintage - Round 1 - Silverstone, will he be able to continue his dominance? Other interesting cars to look out for are Duncan Ricketts 1938 ERA E-Type, Tom Hardman's MG Bellevue Special as well as Andy King's 1935 MG PB 'Cream Cracker' Trials Sports which was last seen at Formula Vintage - Round 5 - Snetterton in September 2017. This car forms one third of the 1936 'Cream Cracker' Team, this famous MG has a successful history of Trials and AutoTests, however continues to hold its own at VSCC Race Meetings.

Practice Sessions start at 0910 hrs with the Lunchtime Parade & Public Grid Walk at 1225 hrs and Racing commencing at 1300 hrs. The newly refurbished Garage 39, which offers a superb restaurant, café and bar will be serving hot and cold food from 0730 hrs. We are also thrilled to welcome Cranberry Flick who are a fantastic seven piece Vintage Jazz band, Swing Gitan and The Washboard Resonators who will all be playing throughout the day.
