MARSHALS STILL REQUIRED FOR THE WINTER DRIVING TESTS

Tuesday 26 November 2013

We still require a number of Marshals to help run the twelve Driving Tests at our upcoming Winter Driving Tests event, to be held on Saturday 7 December once again at St George’s Barracks, near Bicester.

Club Members are welcome to come and spectate, attend the Club’s Race & Speed Forum and have their annual MSA Medical; why not offer to marshal too?
Duties will include timing the competitors and ensuring they follow correct routes and do not touch any bollards. It is a great chance to give something back for the 2013 season and remember you can even claim those all-important final points towards the Club’s main Annual Aggregate Trophies for your marshalling efforts (make sure to contact the Competition Department post-event to claim your points!)

2013 marks a significant milestone in this much-loved event’s history as it will be the final time that long-standing organiser Malcolm Elder will act as Clerk of the Course. After 36 years and five different venues, Malcolm will be handing the reins over to his son Mark following this year’s Driving Tests, aptly named “Swansong”. He is sure to provide another stellar set of themed tests that will be the usual blend of challenge and enjoyment so we hope to see a bumper crowd out to join in the celebrations for one of the Club’s loyal supporters!

Marshals’ Instructions and allocation of duties will be distributed later this week so please let us know as soon as possible.

If you are able offer your services, please contact the Competition Department now on 01608 644777 Ext 4 or email james.taylor@vscc.co.uk.
