VSCC Goodwood Autumn Sprint Photo an Award Winner!

Thursday 09 January 2014

A photo taken by photographer Gareth Tarr at the Club’s Autumn Sprint at Goodwood last October has won a prestigious Aston Martin Owners Club annual photography competition.
As has been the case for the last few years, the 2013 edition of the Autumn Sprint proved another torrentially wet affair, a further test for our competitors around a circuit already notoriously challenging in the dry. Gareth was able to capture this stunning photo of Duncan Wood, as his 1929 Morgan Super Aero emerges through a plume of spray. His Best Time of 124.84secs was enough for Second on Handicap in his Class but could not match another of the VSCC’s Morgan Three Wheeler brigade, as Sue Darbyshire took overall victory on the day in her own 1929 Super Aero in 121.45secs.

Gareth has been awarded AMOC’s Klemantaski Parnell trophy, which he retains for the year. A regular photographer at VSCC events, in addition to the Autumn Sprint Gareth also attends the Club’s New Year Driving Tests at Brooklands and ‘Spring Start’ Race Meeting at Silverstone.

The VSCC would like to congratulate him for this fantastic accomplishment and we look forward to seeing more of his work over the coming 2014 season.
