Advance Ticket Sales for VSCC Mallory Park Race Meeting Now Closed

Tuesday 18 August 2015

Mallory Park welcomes back the VSCC this weekend for our Bob Gerard Memorial Trophy Race Meeting on Saturday 22 August. Advance Ticket Sales are now closed - tickets will still be available on the day so be sure to join us for this much-loved event!
No sooner do we ‘catch our breath’ following the great success of our Oulton Park event last month, and then our stellar Prescott Speed Hill Climb weekend three weeks ago, than attention quickly turns to the next round in the calendar, a return to Mallory Park for our Bob Gerard Memorial Trophy Meeting this Saturday 22 August.

Following a racing absence last year, we are excited to return to in 2015; the Leicestershire venue has always been a firm favourite amongst Club Members, down to its grass roots feeling, the friendly, relaxed atmosphere in the Paddock and superb track that always encourages top quality racing – who can forget the epic Maeers v Carr GN-battle of 2013?

A highlight of the day is sure to be our annual Edwardian Handicap Race, the only one of its kind anywhere in the world. The team of Richard Black and Ron Birkett have been working tirelessly to ensure a capacity grid of quality Pre-1918 machinery for this year’s race so it is sure to be a thrilling spectacle. Further to the track action, there will also be a fantastic Edwardian Display in the Paddock, supported by Bonhams.

The race will be part of a stunning 12-Race programme, boasting all the usual Trophy Races for Vintage, PVT and Historic Racing and Sports-Cars, with our first race scheduled to take place before Lunch at approx. 11.45am.

In addition to the Club’s traditional ‘Sets’, the Burghley Trophy for Austin 7s will also form part of one of the day’s Short Handicap features, whilst there will also be races for F3 (500) Racing Cars and our annual John Taylor Memorial Trophy for front-engined Formula Juniors, and a grid for our friends of the Triple M Register – the name deriving from the MG Midget, Magna and Magnette cars built from 1929 to 1936.

The programme for this year’s event will be as follows:

The Mallory Park Trophy Race for Special Pre-war Sports-Cars (VSCC Set 4) – BEFORE LUNCH BREAK
The Bob Gerard Memorial Trophy Race for Pre-1961 Racing Cars (VSCC Set 2)
All-Comers Pre-war Short Handicap Race 1 (VSCC Set 6)
The Dick Baddiley and Edwardian Racing Trophies Handicap Race for Edwardian Cars
Formula 3 Race for 500cc Racing Cars
The Mallory Mug Race for Standard & Modified Pre-war Sports-Cars (VSCC Set 3)
