25 Years and Counting for the VSCC Exmoor Fringe Trial this Weekend

Friday 12 February 2016

The VSCC Trials Season is upon us with the Exmoor Fringe Trial taking place tomorrow, Saturday 13 February, with 100 Pre-war cars and their crews on their way to take part.
The Club’s annual February visit to the South-West this weekend will mark 25 years of the popular ‘Fringe’ event, with founder Graham White once again taking the reins for the VSCC’s traditional season curtain-raiser. With extremely wet and muddy conditions expected, there will no doubt be another exciting day’s competition in store, based again at the cosy surroundings of The Anchor Inn in Exebridge.

Such celebrated Pre-war marques as Austin, Bentley, Bugatti, Ford, GN, Lea-Francis, MG, Morris, Riley, Vauxhall and more are entered, with crews scheduled to tackle 14 challenging sections throughout the day before a return to the Event HQ to share their experiences with their fellow ‘mud-pluggers’ and for the announcement of the all-important Results.

Having enjoyed an epic battle throughout the last campaign, expect to see the Club’s reigning 2015 Trials Champions lay down a marker for the season ahead, with Hagerty Trophy winner, David Golightly in his Ford Model T, locking horns once more with the Austin 7 of Donald Skelton amongst a number of other challengers in a competitive Short Wheelbase Class and Paul Jeavons, our Frost Trophy holder, looking to make it a hat-trick of Long Wheelbase Class victories in his Vauxhall 30-98.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
All sections are now on private land, with difficult access and very limited parking space so please note that there are STRICTLY NO SPECTATORS THIS YEAR!
