Reminder: VSCC Annual General Meeting – Saturday March 23

The VSCC AGM will be held this Saturday morning at the Radisson Blu Hotel adjacent to East Midlands Airport, Castle Donington, Derbyshire (just off the A50 / M1 / M42).
Formal business will commence at 11.00am, in the Wheatcroft Suite followed by an open Q & A session on topics such as Tool Room Copies of Racing Cars, MOTs, Events etc.

You will see from the Notice of the Annual General Meeting (Report & Accounts 2013 page 5) that your Committee are asking you to vote on two changes to the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Club, in addition to voting on the annual accounts for 2012 and re-appointing the Club’s auditors.
Article 10 sets the date at which any member who has not renewed his/her subscription ceases to be a member. The date refers back to the old system of quarter days and was set when the Club’s financial year end was 31 October, rather than 31 December as it is now. By moving this date to the 31 March, it simply gives the Club a little more flexibility in arranging the AGM date.
Article 55 governs director’ meetings. The small change is to allow any director who is not able to attend a meeting in person, say in the case of the recent severe weather, the opportunity to participate in the meeting by such methods as a telephone conference call.
We hope that you will feel able to support these changes either by voting in person at the AGM or by using the proxy form accompanying this Newsletter.
