VSCC Scottish AutoSolo and Northern Club Day this weekend

Friday 14 October 2016

The VSCC Scottish AutoSolo takes place this weekend at East Fortune Race Circuit, as part of the Club’s second annual Northern Club Day in Scotland tomorrow, Saturday 15 October.
AutoSolos were devised by the MSA to exclude any use of reverse gear so cars of all sizes and lengths are eligible, be they open or saloons, and are suitable to drivers of all ages and skeletal flexibility!

The event will take place tomorrow afternoon at the circuit in Haddington, approximately 20 miles east of Edinburgh (East Lothian, EH39 5JZ) by courtesy of the Melville Motor Club of Scotland.

There will be two classes for Long Wheelbase cars (8ft and over) and Short Wheelbase cars (under 8ft), with different tests for each and both trophy and standard VSCC Class awards on offer. This year’s event will utilise all the track and paddock so the two classes will be run concurrently and particular care has been taken to design tests to accommodate the Long Wheelbase cars.

If you have any questions about the AutoSolo, please contact Martin Jelley at m.jelley145@btinternet.com.

As last year, the event will be followed by a Film Show and annual Club Dinner at the Craigielaw Country Club and Golf Course, Aberlady, EH32 0PY. The Dinner will be 7.00pm for 7.30pm with Martin Shelley as this year’s Guest of Honour, to talk about his restoration of the 1908 TT Thorneycroft and will include a 3-course dinner.
