Sprints
VSCC sprints, held on fixed circuits or former airfields, are a direct challenge against the clock and reward fast, accurate and consistent performance. Events are divided into capacity classes with a number of awards given for overall, handicap and age criteria in each. At a number of the Club’s sprints, named trophies are awarded to the overall winner for ‘Fastest Time of Day’ and also for best performance to certain other criteria, as detailed in the individual descriptions below, and are presented at events or at the Club’s AGM.
POMEROY TROPHY
Awarded for the best performance overall at Pomeroy Memorial Trophy Competition
DENSHAM TROPHY
Awarded for the best performance by a VSCC eligible pre-war car not winning the main trophy at Pomeroy Memorial Trophy Competition
POMEROY EDWARDIAN TROPHY
Awarded for the best performance by a VSCC eligible Edwardian car or a car fitted with two-wheeled brakes, or by a VSCC eligible vintage car if above criteria not met.
CURBOROUGH TROPHY
Awarded for Fastest Time of Day at Curborough Speed Trials
COLERNE TROPHY
Awarded for the Fastest Time of Day at Autumn Sprint at Goodwood.
