Staffordshire Tour

16 Jul 2023

Event main image

The first Club road event since the Light Car Rally of 2010 to be held in one of the country’s least appreciated counties! The Start and finish will be at Gayton Village Hall just 7 miles north east of Stafford and the route will be about 70 miles through a mixture of countryside. We hope to show you some historic sites as well as dramatic scenery to prove that not all of the finer parts of the Peak District are in other counties.

The route will pass a venue for one of England’s oldest ritual rural dances, a film location for The Hound of the Baskervilles, the site of the production of the world's first transatlantic telegraph cables, go along the course of an Edwardian-era hill climb, pass through a village built in the Swiss Alpine style, go near a world famous maker of backhoe loaders – and a diesel powered land speed record breaking car, drive through the nave of a Cistercian Abbey, tackle another pre-WW1 hill climb course and finally pass through the grounds of a country estate.
