An annual highlight of the Club’s calendar of events, the Midland Automobile Club’s Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb plays host to the Vintage Sports-Car Club this weekend, bringing together two of today’s most celebrated names in Pre-war motorsport, on Sunday 6 July.

BONHAMS FESTIVAL OF SPEED SALE RACES AHEAD WITH £22.6 MILLION AND A NEW WORLD RECORD

Bonhams’ annual Festival of Speed Sale saw spectacular results, with the ‘Fearsome Four-Nine’ Ferrari 375-Plus battled out between bidders, and the hammer finally falling at £10.7 million ($18.2 million USD). This result for the Ferrari 375-Plus is a World Auction Record for a Ferrari Sports Racing car, and is the third highest price for any car sold at auction.

Over 1,000 lots of Veteran, Edwardian and Vintage Motor Cars, Historic Commercial Vehicles and automobilia went under the hammer this weekend, with 99.7% sold. The private collection, owned by one man and collected over the course of five decades, collectively sold for £3 million with a 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost the top lot of the sale, achieving £418,140.
