Welsh Regularity Rally

08 Oct 2016 - 09 Oct 2016

Presteigne, Powys

A salute to the traditional long distance Rallies of yore and the first ever Welsh weekend of 1939. A mix of social and motoring enjoyment.

On the Saturday, a 100 mile “Concentration Run” via your own route from your self-chosen starting point will take you to Presteigne for tea with your fellow Competitors. The evening is then yours to enjoy on the busy High Street or over dinner at the “Radnorshire,” where Marshals, Rallyists and Triallists can mingle together.

On Sunday a sixty mile Regularity “loop” will take you into the wonderful countryside of the Welsh Marches at attainable average speeds, with perhaps a few “cols” and lots of views along the way. Navigation will be entirely by road book with clear directions and distances. Maps not essential but you may choose to take them along for company. Certainly there will be no “Bletchley Park” style conundrums to solve, nor will novice navigators be made to feel out of place.

A high proportion of Competitors can be expected to get clean sheets, reaching all controls without significant loss of time. All of these will get First Class awards, while Second and Third Class awards will go to those who do not do quite as well.  Without an overall winner the Talyllyn Trophy will be available for any outstanding contribution to the event over the weekend – be it for sportsmanship, perseverance, marshalling or whatever.

The Rally will finish at Cwm Whitton for an alfresco lunch, with plenty of time to watch a few Trials sections before setting off home.

Open to Club Members driving Vintage or PVT cars (Buff Forms not required) without any penalty for additional passengers.
