Provisional Results for the Welsh Trial and Vintage Welsh Rally are now available for download

Members can now download Provisional Results for the Welsh Trial and Vintage Welsh Rally, which took place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October.

Regular trials driver, Richard Houlgate topped the charts and took home the Harry Bowler Memorial Trophy for the best score overall score of the weekend, as well as best performance in the short wheel base class, with a total of 368 marks in his Austin 7. Taking the win in the long wheel base class and The Presteigne Trophy was Jonathan Miller in his Chrysler 66 Sports with a total of 321, closely followed by our top lady driver of the weekend Charlotte Collings.

The Smatcher Trophy is presented to the driver who finished the highest placed, but not winning any other award, with this years winner being Oliver Maitland in his Austin 7 Cambridge. James Painter took The Judges Gavel, which is awarded to the best driver of the ten youngest competitors entered into the event.

The Leslie Winder Trophy is awarded, at the discretion of the organisers to the competitor, who in their opinion, has the best performance in the face of adversity. This years very noteworthy winner was 17 year old Jack Bond, who managed to repair his car whilst completing the 100 mile concentration run, complete most of the events hills and finish only 20 marks out of the awards!

In the rally, regular Expert Class competitors Matthew Bell and Jonathan Nicholl, in their Austin 7,topped the results dropping only ten marks over this 80 mile route through the lanes surrounding Presteigne and the Welsh Borders, eventually winning the prestigious Talyllyn Trophy by a clear five marks and their nearest competitors Mike Holt and Nick Cooper.
Neil Thorp and Pam Gledhill took the Semi-Expert Class win on a total of 44 marks in their Singer 9 Sports Coupe. Taking the Novice Class win was the new pairing of John Fletcher and Nicholas Williams in their Riley 9, with the Champagne Class being won by Dr David Pryke, navigated by family member Alistair in his Alvis Speed 20.
The next VSCC Rally is the opening event of 2014, The Measham Rally, and will be based in North Yorkshire. Regulations and Entry Forms for this event will be available shortly.
