VSCC Members invited to Training Day at Harewood Hill Climb

Tuesday 19 May 2015

The VSCC have been kindly invited to participate in a Harewood Training Day on Friday 5 June, prior to the Vintage & Classic Hill Climb event run by BARC on Saturday and our Cadwell Park Race Meeting in Lincolnshire on Sunday.
The day is the perfect opportunity for those Hill Climb Competitors heading to North Yorkshire wishing to drive on two consecutive days and seeking to improve their technique.

No Competition Licence of any kind or special equipment is required, making it also ideal for those ‘dipping their toe’ into the world of Hill Climbing. Helmets are required, but can be provided free of charge to those needing one.

The Training Day includes up to 10 goes up the hill each, led by a qualified Instructor, one of whom is our very own VSCC Hill Climb champion, James Baxter who is sole co-ordinator for the day.

It is open to road-going cars only, with tow cars and moderns also acceptable; cars may also be shared.

A very rare opportunity especially laid on the day before our Vintage Hill Climb event at the venue, this is intended to be an all-inclusive event, so friends and family will also be most welcome. A similar Training Day received great feedback when we ran it exclusively for the Frazer Nash Car Club four years ago, so don’t miss this great opportunity.

Format Includes:

  • Refreshments all day; a superb outside catered lunch in the Clubhouse.
  • Sign on 8.30am, briefing 9.00am followed by an Instructor led walk up the hill pointing out key features.
  • Approx 10 goes up the hill, 2 of which under the guidance of a qualified Instructor.
  • Video given to each participant of their individual performance on the hill.
  • Special dispensation arranged for cars with no seatbelts.
  • Instructors reserve the right to not join cars without seatbelts.
  • The cost is £175 per driver (additional Lunches for ‘hangers on’ available for £15).
  • Full details and booking is direct with James Baxter only (see contact information below).

Tell your friends, family and bring a mate because shared drives are welcome.

Camping is available onsite from Thursday evening to Monday; participation on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.

Thank you in anticipation of your support; we look forward to hearing from you.
