2025/26 Rules for classification of NON standard SWB cars.

Work in Progress, not yet to be published to members.

1. Competitors in Non Standard SWB cars will be split into two classes, 1b Clubman’s and 1c Expert.

2. Competitors will be allocated to either class 1b or class 1c based on an analysis of their previous performance. This will be done by ranking all drivers separately in each their non-standard SWB  cars. The ranking list will order drivers and cars by their average position after ignoring any atypical results, e.g. DNF, mechanical issues etc.

3. The Ranking list will be reviewed twice yearly, once before the season and once at Christmas. The active list will be available to view on the VSCC web site. We will endeavor to maintain a reasonable balance between the two classes.

4. Following each review the Ranking list will be updated taking into account the competitors latest results, some competitors may be moved up or down between classes 1b and 1c as their position on the Ranking list dictates. This will happen twice yearly. Competitors class allocations will be available to view on the VSCC website.

5. Where a competitor uses more than one car each car with that competitor/driver will have a separate ranking.

6. Any competitor new to trials or driving a different car will start in 1b.  Competitors using an established Experts car for the first time may opt to enter 1c.

7. Competitors returning to trials after an absence will restart in the class they were last in.

8. If a competitors feels it appropriate they may request to move up from 1b to 1c. However competitors may not choose to move down from 1c to 1b.

9. The office will ensure that no driver and car identified as an Expert, enters class 1b

10. Allocation of class awards. Because 1c has a higher percentage of competitive drivers 40% of the total class will receive awards, in class 1b this will be 20% of the class.

11. Trophies will be engraved with the additional words “Clubman’s class” or “Experts class”.
