Sussex Tour
15 Sep 2024
The
inaugural Sussex Tour provided a real hit last year with a variety of great
touring cars doing what they do best, and therefore we are pleased to see it
again part of the VSCC touring schedule.
Chris Swann and Bruce Girvan have devised another classic tour to explore 2 long loops off of the A272 in a historic region of mid-Sussex. The Mid-Sussex Meander starts near Wisborough Green and heads generally east towards Ardingly before wending back. The geography of this mid-Wealden region allows longer, tree-enclosed lane touring whilst avoiding the ups and downs of the Downs. At 86 miles, you should be thinking 3-5 hours of leisurely vintage touring enjoyment including an informal lunch stopping point at the Victory Inn in Staplefield. Here you can park by the cricket green and decide if you want to enjoy your picnic, chat with fellow tourers and refresh with a glass of something or, should you have booked ahead, load up with a Sunday roast. Bring a smile, bring your lovely car, we look forward to welcoming you to a super day touring the Weald.
