NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTIONS TO THE CLUB COMMITTEE - CLOSING SOON!

The Club invites new nominations for election to the VSCC Committee. Nominations must be received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 15 January 2014.
You will recall that at the 2012 AGM it was passed that:
The Directors of the Club, other than the Officers appointed by the directors, shall by appointed for a term of 3 years by a ballot of the members of the Club which shall be conducted at the Annual General Meeting of the Club to be held each year.
2014 is the second of the transitional years for this arrangement passed as follows:
45A.Transitional Arrangements – Three Year Terms
In order to give effect to the change in the term of appointment of directors from one year to three years the directors comprising the most senior one third serving at the date of the Annual General Meeting shall retire automatically at the Annual General Meeting in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
In the event that there are directors with equal terms of service so that in excess of one third of the number of serving directors would be required to retire, then the President shall draw lots amongst those with the shortest terms of service to establish which of them shall retire first.
Therefore, by the rules of the Club, at least four of the elected members of the current Committee will stand down at the March 2014 Annual General Meeting. Voting slips, proxy froms etc will be issued to members with the Febrauary Newsletter.
The present elected members of the Committee who stand down are entitled to stand again for the election to the Committee without nomination.
To register as a new candidate, download a Nomination Form (click here) or apply to the Club Secretary. Nomination Forms, which must be completed to show the signed consent of the candidate along with details of the members who are proposing and seconding the nominations must be received in writing at the Club Office on or before 5.00pm on Wednesday 15 January 2014.
