VSCC to mark the ‘turning of the seasons’ with a bumper weekend of Vintage motoring activities

The VSCC hosts not one, but two great events over the weekend of the 7/8 September as we transition seamlessly into the Autumn sporting calendar. Saturday sees the Autumn Rally have its second running in the Berkshire Area, under the stewardship of local member Richard Scott whilst our historic Madresfield Driving Tests will take place against the backdrop of the Malvern Hills on the Sunday. Entries are now closed for both events, however, we will still consider late entries from anyone who would still like to take part (or marshal)!
Autumn Rally, Wolverton, Hampshire, RG26 5ST, Saturday 7 September
Starting and finishing at ‘The George and Dragon’, this year’s compact 99 mile route will ‘explore’ the Reading/Newbury/Basingstoke triangle; for those in lesser-powered cars, the course will not be as hilly as last year, although we hope it will still prove equally interesting for driver and navigator alike, whilst Instructions will continue to follow this year’s pattern, with both Novice and Champagne Class Instructions kept particularly straightforward for the less-experienced; an optional £6 lunch will also be provided by the local branch of the Save the Children Fund.

Madresfield Driving Tests & Concours, Malvern, WR13 6PB, Sunday 8 September
One of the Club’s oldest events, the prestigious Madresfield Driving Tests were first held on the mile-long drive of the Court in 1947 and continue to be one of the most well-loved events of the year. The combination of simple Driving Tests and ‘self-judged’ concours, alongside the day’s relaxed atmosphere makes it one of the most social days on the VSCC calendar. Spectators can also take part in their own Concours for Pre-war cars with the second presentation of the Bob Watt Cup, named in memory of the late VSCC stalwart.
