Autumn Rally and Madresfield Driving Tests Results now Live

Members can now download Provisional Results from both the Autumn Rally, which took place on Saturday 7 September and Madresfield Driving Tests & Concours, which took place on Sunday 8 September.

Saturday’s Rally proved a great day’s competition with challenge and enjoyment in equal quantity. There was somewhat of a triumphant return to form for VSCC Rally regulars Mark Garfitt and his navigator Dood Pearce, who claim the Martini Trophy for overall victory in the Frazer Nash/BMW 319/55 Sports, topping the Expert Class following a couple of below-par performances by their high standards in previous events. Father and son duo Roger and Russell Thomas were victorious in the Semi-Expert Class in their MG PA whilst Giles Hedley was ably navigated home by son Will in their Ford Model A to win the Novices Class. We congratulate Clerk of the Course Richard Scott and all the marshals and volunteers for a terrific event.

The following day saw the Club’s historic and much-loved Madresfield Driving Tests & Concours take place with ever-dependable team of Tom Pellow and Hugh Girvan at the helm, supported by their dedicated volunteer marshals. Robert Gibson made it a hat-trick of victories, winning the Madresfield Trophy for best performance in the driving tests for a third consecutive year, in his Austin 7. Young Oliver Jackson was awarded the Montagu Trophy as winner of the Concours, driving his grandmother’s exquisite Alfa Romeo Zagato and Susan Hill was the highest placed Lady driver in her Helix. Tony Smith’s MG PA was deemed winner of the Spectators’ Concours competition and he took home the aptly named Bob Watt Cup.
