Race 2: F3 (500) Commander Yorke Race, Part 1
2013 sees the VSCC host a very special two part event for the F3 500 Owners Association, their very historic and prestigious Commander Yorke Race. Originally held in 1949, shortly after the untimely of death of the events namesake, Charles Anthony Yorke, and totalled 100 miles in length at Silverstone – these events provided the ultimate reliability challenge for these small but powerful race cars.
Commander C. A Yorke R. N. was a steadfast supporter of the 500cc racing movement, with a passion for long distance racing, making this race a particularly suitable tribute to him. Now reformatted into two races split over both days of our Silverstone meeting, this event still provides a suitable challenge for all the drivers taking part, on the 64th anniversary of the first event being held.

The F3 (500) Association have attracted a record breaking grid over 42 competitors for their prestigious double-header.
