Introduction

The VSCC is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and enjoyable online environment for all members. Our guidelines are designed to support positive interactions on Club-managed online forums and social media platforms, and are in alignment with best practices for safeguarding and responsible online behaviour.

Use of Online Forums

By participating in the VSCC online forums, members agree to:

Age Requirement: Not register or participate if under 16 years of age.

Content Standards: Avoid posting material that could be considered offensive, threatening, or in violation of any laws.

Copyright and Advertising: Respect copyright laws and utilise the Club's designated channels for any advertisements.

Communication Channels: Direct specific inquiries to the Club Secretary and utilise designated forum sections for general queries.

Moderation and Etiquette: Respect forum organisation by keeping threads on-topic and refraining from inflammatory or irrelevant postings.

Social Media Behaviour

Members representing the VSCC on social media must:

Positive Engagement: Foster a positive online environment, avoiding any behaviour that could reflect negatively on the Club.

Respectful Interaction: Engage respectfully with all individuals, both within and outside the Club's digital spaces.

Privacy and Safety: Adhere to privacy settings and guidelines to protect personal and others' information.

Forum and Social Media Moderation

Responsibility and Reporting: The Club's appointed Moderators will oversee daily forum activities, ensuring the community remains a respectful space. Members are encouraged to report any inappropriate content through the established channels.

Guidelines for All Members

Consent for Minors: Obtain explicit consent from parents or guardians before posting any content involving members under 18 years of age.

Image and Content Sharing: Exercise caution when sharing images or content, ensuring it adheres to the Club's standards for respect and privacy.

Avoiding Harmful Content: Refrain from posting content that could be harmful, offensive, or in violation of any laws.

Support and Resources

The Club is committed to providing support and resources for all members to navigate online spaces safely. This includes access to information on staying safe online and mechanisms for reporting concerns or inappropriate behaviour.

These guidelines will be reviewed annually or as necessary to reflect the latest best practices and legal requirements. Our aim is to ensure that the VSCC's online forums and social media channels remain welcoming and safe spaces for all members to enjoy and engage with the Club and each other.
