Historic gathering of Frazer Nash-BMW Cars to headline a wealth of sideline attractions at VSCC Prescott this weekend

Monday 28 July 2014

In excess of twenty-five wonderful Frazer Nash-BMW cars will descend on the VSCC Prescott Speed Hill Climb this weekend as they take their place as the feature display in the Orchard on Sunday, to mark the 80th Anniversary of the agreement between AFN Ltd and BMW.
Many of the Pre-war models will be represented, as members of the BMW Historic Motor Club UK – the majority also VSCC Members – bring a weekend of celebrations around the Cotswolds to a fitting finale at our famous weekend, joining over 300 Pre-war Racing and Sports-Cars who compete over the weekend’s two Hill Climb events, taking place on Friday 1 and Saturday 2/Sunday 3 August.

The display is just one of a number of exciting attractions to compliment the track action over the three days. We also look forward to welcoming the historic 1922 T.T. Sunbeam following completion of its recent restoration – so-called in honour of its Isle of Man Tourist Trophy victory in that year – whilst, our Principal Associates, Bonhams will bring yet another splendid display of cars from their forthcoming sales. We are also delighted to have the much-lauded ‘Speedback’ by David Brown Automotive in attendance; the classically-styled, hand-crafted GT car has been winning praise around the world following its launch earlier this year.

As ever this year, Prescott will prove the ideal event for the whole family – Bouncy Castle, Sweet Stall, Kids’ Cinema and the traditional Sunday morning Bike Races ensures there will be plenty to keep our younger enthusiasts occupied through the weekend whilst we again look forward to hosting possibly the country’s finest Trade Village and Autojumble, where there will surely be something to suit all interests. If that is not enough, the Club’s own Library Team will be on hand with their annual Book Sale in the Paddock too.

Eureka Jazz make their traditional annual Prescott bow, when again they will be providing musical accompaniment at the Bonhams enclosure on Saturday afternoon before completing their early evening set across at the Clubhouse, ahead of our evening act, Inbetween Days, whose covers of everything from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones to the Kaiser Chiefs and everything in between will undoubtedly keep the party going. Eureka return for their traditional lunchtime parade up the Hill on Sunday – feel free to join them!

Prescott Speed Hill Climb, located near Gotherington, North of Cheltenham, is the jewel in the crown of the VSCC’s calendar of public events. As we did in the Club’s last major Anniversary in 2009, we are excited to offer the 80th Anniversary Hill Climb this year, which is a one-day event taking place at Prescott on Friday 1 August, followed by the traditional weekend event on Saturday 2 August (Practice) and Sunday 3 August (Competitive Runs).

Tickets are on sale on the day, at the following prices:
