Measham Rally 2016 - Late Entries Available!

Wednesday 06 January 2016

There are still late entries available for the first VSCC event of 2016, our famous Measham Rally, taking place once again in Thirsk, North Yorkshire overnight on 16/17 January.
An event for the true Vintage motorsports enthusiast, it was first run in 1950 and remains one of the most important events of the VSCC calendar. Always organised by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, a finish, let alone an award, on any Measham is a major accomplishment of which any motorsports competitor can be proud. 2016 sees the rally return to the idyllic surroundings of Thirsk in North Yorkshire.

All Cars must be Pre-1941; please contact the Competition Department on 01608 644777 (ext 4) or email comps@vscc.co.uk for more information.

We are delighted that the very experienced team of John Potter and Brian Hughes, assisted by Jonathan and Sue Swales, will once again be organising the 2016 edition and are keen to maintain the time-honoured traditions of this blue riband event.

The start, halfway and finish will be at Thirsk Auction Mart, an excellent venue, easy to get to with dual carriageway all the way from the south, and with ample trailer parking, undercover scrutineering and fettling facilities and plenty of plotting room.

Drinks and hot food will be available from the Gavel Bar on site, whilst there are also some great village pubs with rooms and B&B’s in the local area. The fast class will follow a route of 180 miles, slightly shorter for the slower cars, whilst instructions will, as always, be by map reference only, the emphasis being on accurate timekeeping.
