Dates and Classes Confirmed for Festival Weekend : The Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival
Thursday 06 December 2012
Following the success of this year’s Double Twelve, Brooklands Museum and the Vintage Sports-Car Club have confirmed preliminary details for the Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival 2013 which falls on the closest weekend to the anniversary of the opening of the race track in 1907, on 15-16 June. The structure of the competitions is changing to encourage entrants to enjoy a full weekend of motoring action, but the beauty of this new system means even if a competitor can make one day only, then there is still an opportunity to come and compete in any single competition...
There will be three stand-alone events:
• The Double Twelve Speed Trials on the Mercedes-Benz World Circuit on Saturday
• The Double Twelve Concours held on Saturday and Sunday
• The Double Twelve Driving Tests on Sunday
Each event will have its own class and overall winners, but to qualify for a Brooklands Double Twelve award, an entrant must compete in any two of the three events and the combined scores of these two events will decide their Double Twelve placing. This means that a car may be entered for the Speed Trials on Saturday and then the Driving Tests on Sunday. Alternatively a car could be entered in the Concours on Saturday and take part in the Driving Tests on Sunday and a car could also enter the Speed Trials on Saturday and be judged in the Concours on Sunday. Details of this year’s classes are below.
Entry fees are as follows: Speed Trials £100, Driving Tests £50, Concours £50. When two events are entered, the fees are Speed Trials and one other £110, Concours and Driving Tests £60. Hospitality including a light lunch will be provided for all entrants. It will not be possible to enter all three events due to timing restrictions and priority will be given to people entering more than one event.
The Regulations and Entry Form can be downloaded on this site and Members will also be able to enter online soon and on the Double Twelve pages of the Brooklands Museum website. For further information on the Double Twelve Concours, please contact Nic Waller at nic.waller@virgin.net or 0787 551 6817. Once again the Vintage Sports-Car Club will be organising the Speed Trials and the Driving Tests, so for further information about these events, please contact the VSCC Competitions Department on comps@vscc.co.uk or 01608 644777 Ext 4
