A Podcast for the truly vintage enthusiast

At its core, Vintage Velocity demonstrates how a club rooted in Pre-War motoring can adapt to the 21st century while staying true to its mission: to celebrate people, cars, and stories. The result is a series that not only preserves oral history but also connects generations. Younger members hear the experiences of icons; long-standing enthusiasts discover new perspectives from rising stars. By capturing conversations that range from technical detail to personal passion, Vintage Velocity serves as both archive and outreach.

Season 2 opened with a strong start: Gillian Carr, who reflected upon her career ahead of the Mallory Park Race Meeting. Her racing story covers an extraordinary variety of cars, from Bentleys at Goodwood Revival to the “Bentley Belles” Healey at Spa Six Hours. She also appeared in the 2017 film Sicilian Dream, driving a 1905 Lorraine Dietrich on the original Targa Florio roads.

Following Gillian was Vijay Mallya: exploring his extraordinary collection, including the Sunbeam Tiger and his previous ownership of ERA R4D, and Peter Stevens: the celebrated designer of the McLaren F1 and Jaguar XJR-15, who also has a passion for Model Ts and vintage hot rods.

Bringing us to today, where we release the episode with well-known Club personality Patrick Blakeney-Edwards: a prominent and known vintage and historic racer whose company Blakeney Motorsport is renowned.

With episodes that range from track-side tales to design insights and global adventures, Vintage Velocity celebrates the diverse characters who keep vintage motorsport alive. Each conversation is a reminder that the VSCC is more than a Club. It is a community built on history, camaraderie and a shared love of the sport.
