International Historic Motoring Awards – Here Comes The VSCC!

Wednesday 15 October 2025

Three cheers for the VSCC: the Club, its podcast, and rising talent Will Marsh are all shortlisted at the International Historic Motoring Awards

Following last year’s 90th anniversary, the Club has carried that same energy into 2025, with a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and doing what we do best. To be recognised for this work feels like a real reflection of the people who make the VSCC what it is. We simply would not be the Club without the enthusiasm and commitment of our team, volunteers, and members. Having taken home Club of the Year at the 2024 International Historic Motoring Awards, we are delighted to be shortlisted again among such strong company. Club Secretary, Tania Brown, shared her delight at the news, saying “I am thrilled that the VSCC has once again been shortlisted for Club of the Year, something we have achieved every year during my time as Secretary. I am equally pleased that Vintage Velocity has been recognised for Media of the Year. As a Members’ Club, we do not have an unlimited production budget, so to be listed alongside such well-resourced names is genuinely humbling.”

From a small team of car enthusiasts to a global audience on Spotify and YouTube, Vintage Velocity has taken the spirit of vintage motorsport to new places. Conceived by Tania Brown and brought to life with Lara Platman and Ollie Leston, the podcast is a true reflection of collaboration and shared passion. To see it shortlisted among such extraordinary company is a celebration of what it stands for. The people, the stories, and the heritage that make vintage motorsport unique.

Launched in 2024, Vintage Velocity blends modern media with storytelling, featuring legends such as Victor Riley, Ivan Dutton, and Ben Cussons, alongside rising stars and female voices shaping the sport today. Following the success of Series One, Series Two expanded its reach with guests including Vijay Mallya, Peter Stevens, and David Richards CBE. The podcast has become both archive and outreach, connecting generations and proving that even a 90-year-old Club can thrive in digital spaces. If you have not yet listened, Vintage Velocity is available on the VSCC Spotify and YouTube channels.

And finally, looking to the future, we are immensely proud that Will Marsh has been shortlisted as a Rising Star. At just 22, Will has become one of the brightest young talents in vintage motorsport. Campaigning his self-prepared 1929 Austin 7 Ulster, he has achieved remarkable success across Hill Climbs, Sprints, Trials, and Races, becoming the youngest ever winner of the VSCC’s premier Lycett Memorial Trophy, alongside four other major titles in a single season. Will’s skill, versatility, and generosity in sharing his knowledge with fellow young members capture the best of what the VSCC stands for. He represents both the future and the enduring values of vintage motorsport, embodying the spirit of the International Historic Motoring Awards’ Rising Star: talented, humble, and an inspiration to the next generation of custodians.

We wish all those on the shortlist luck and we are looking forward to celebrating whoever may win at the International Historic Motoring Awards on14 November. Fingers crossed we will return to the office with more than a champagne hangover!
