Unmissable action at the home of the British Grand Prix
The Vintage Sports-Car Club kicked off its 2026 season in style at Silverstone, delivering a lively mix of racing, innovation, and community spirit. A major highlight was the return of the High Speed Trial, which continues to attract fresh talent—over half of this year’s finishers were first-time racers, reflecting the Club’s push to make motorsport more accessible.
On track, the action didn’t disappoint. Max Sowerby stood out with double podium finishes, while the Patrick Lindsay Trophy was dominated by ERA cars. Notably, two young drivers made their ERA debuts, including Stephanie Wilton, who impressed with a top-ten finish despite technical setbacks—marking a rare and significant moment for female representation in this class.
The event also welcomed a diverse range of machinery, from Morgans to Jaguar C-types, thanks to guest grids and the new Revolution 50s category, delivering close and exciting racing throughout.
Off the circuit, the atmosphere was just as engaging. The popular AutoSOLO returned, offering an approachable way for newcomers to build confidence behind the wheel. Meanwhile, students from StarterMotor were given a behind-the-scenes look at motorsport, highlighting the Club’s commitment to nurturing future talent.
With such a strong start, the VSCC’s 2026 season is shaping up to be one of its most inclusive and exciting yet. Upcoming race meetings at Donington Park, Cadwell Park, and Mallory Park promise more of the same—competitive racing with a welcoming, grassroots feel. Enter here
