The Pomeroy Trophy

Thursday 17 December 2015

Members will be aware that we have been looking at ways to open the Pomeroy Trophy up to more Competitors next year and thus planned to allow entries of smaller capacity Pre-war cars and also hoped to introduce a separate 'Pom Fringe' event with an AutoSolo replacin the 40 minute blind and so not requiring a Race Licence.
Whilst we have succeeded with the first part of the equation and the Pomeroy Trophy will include a new Voiturette class next year, accommodating Pre-war cars up to a cubic capacity of 1494, we have now been advised that given the peculiarities of the Pomeroy a Race Licence will still be required to participate in Tests A to D. Therefore, we have decided not to proceed with the ‘Pom Fringe’ as the purpose has been somewhat undermined. Please be assured that we are still looking at ways to increase the number of Competitors at the Pomeroy Trophy and this will include offering the opportunity to enter the High Speed Trial only at the end of the day for those who are interested in 40 minutes of track time very early in the season, but are not necessarily interested in completing Tests A to D. Entries are now open.
