A fortnight until the Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies Race Meeting at Cadwell Park.

A fortnight today the VSCC Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies Race Meeting at Cadwell Park will be in full swing (Saturday 8 June).
Paul Baker’s 1923 ‘Bolster Special’ is one of the highlights of Saturday’s feature race, the Shuttleworth and Nuffield and Len Thompson Trophies Race, part of an 11 race programme the following day, 8 June. The ‘Bolster’ is also one of 26 Frazer Nashes and GN’s lining up for the prestigious annual Frazer Nash and GN Race.....the ‘Chain-Gang’s’ annual opportunity for a circuit thrash en-masse.

Stephen Shoosmith returns to defend his 2012 Williams Trophy victory in his 1931 Bugatti Type 51 machine, though this year he faces stiffer competition from a larger entry boosted by the tie-in with the Bugatti International Rally which will see 22 of Mosheim’s finest machines take to the track for a memorable 8 lap battle. Charles Knill-Jones is sure to give him a run for his money driving Nick Mason’s Type 35B and Mike Preston’s Type 35 car is sure to be fast on the undulating Cadwell track.

VSCC Members Tickets cost £11 in advance (buy at www.vscc.co.uk or call 01608 644999), General Public Advance tickets cost £14 (buy at www.cadwellpark.co.uk or call 0843 4539000) or £17 on the gate. Children aged 13 and under go free.

Short Scratch Race for Pre-war Cars (Set 5) – 5 Laps
2 x Short Handicap Races for Pre-war Cars (Set 6) – 5 Laps
Williams Trophy for 2-seater Pre-1935 Grand Prix Cars – 8 Laps
Race for Frazer Nash and GN Cars – 6 Laps
Race for F3 (500) Racing Cars – 6 Laps
Race for Morgan Three Wheeler Cars – 6 Laps

The preceding day, VSCC and Bugatti Owners’ Club members have use of the circuit for only £125 all day on Friday 7 June. Tula Engineering are kindly subsiding half of the entry fee for those wishing to drive Bugatti cars. To book please contact the VSCC Competitions Department (email: comps@vscc.co.uk or call 01608 644777 Ext 4). You do not have to have a race licence to enter, don’t miss this rare opportunity to drive the challenging Cadwell Track with like-minded enthusiasts. The day will be run in sessions and is ideal for novices.
