Lorton, Cumbria

The Club’s winter Trials season continues with the annual pilgrimage north to the picturesque surroundings of the Lake District, covering a wide area of the Lakes from Honister Slate Mine in the south to Beck Wythop Forest in the north, still based at the Wheatsheaf in  Low Lorton not far away from Keswick.

Due to ongoing harvesting there are a number of changes this year with a new forest added.  The same single venue for signing-on and scrutineering for all competitors as last year will used: the Whinlatter Visitor Centre.  The organising team of Alan Couper, John Gill and Allan Dunn are setting-up a challenging series of hill sections for what will surely prove to be a thrilling day of motor sport. The infamous Drumhouse remains the central feature of the Trial with its twisting climb to the summit and the thrill of achieving the top successfully is a reward for the day’s efforts.

Spectating will be limited to Drumhouse due to ongoing harvesting at Hobcarton and imminent harvesting at Whinlatter.

Do not miss the chance to participate in one of the Club’s most historic and well-loved events – the maximum entry the Forestry Commission allow is 100 so enter soon to avoid disappointment.
