A Remarkable Tenure
One of the most significant figures in the administrative history of the Vintage Sports-Car Club was Tim Carson, who served as Club Secretary from 1938 to 1972.
His stewardship spanned more than three decades, guiding the Club through the immediate pre-war years, the interruption of the Second World War, and the rebuilding and expansion of historic motorsport in the post-war period.
Carson’s long tenure provided continuity and stability at a time when many of the traditions, events and organisational structures of the Vintage Sports-Car Club were first established.
